Wolves march on

Wolves continued their impressive league run with this emphatic three-goal triumph over Social Club at Somerset yesterday.

But it wasn't all one-way traffic as the league leaders were made to sweat in the first half when they managed to hold just a 1-0 lead.

The only goal before the break came from Nirobi Smith after 33 minutes, but other chances that fell Wolves' way were put either wide or high of goal.

One of the main culprits for Wolves was their promising youngster John Barry Nusum who missed several opportuntities.

As Social Club tired in the second half, Wolves took a decisive hold on the game.

Nusum made up for his first-half blunders by scoring the second goal after 52 minutes and their third came right at the end through Ricky Nesbitt.

Social Club were reduced to 10 players right at the end when Raymond Burgess was given his marching orders by referee Erwin Simmons.

Prospect 1 St. David's 0 Fifth-placed Prospect scored their third victory of the season with this triumph over visiting St. David's at Police Field, but they left it late.

With precious little time remaining, Daniel Reece settled it for Police when he scored after 85 minutes to deny the hard working St. David's side a point.

Ham.Parish 2 St.George's 1 Hamilton Parish bounced back from a disappointing scoreless draw against bottom team Social Club in their last outing to pick up a victory that keeps them in the top two in the Second Division standings.

But they had another scare on their way to victory when William Pitt put St.

George's into the lead in the first half at Wellington Oval.

Shane Burgess equalised before the break as the teams went into the half tied at 1-1.

Substitute Ricky Hill, who a couple of years ago was playing with St. George's in the First Division, sunk his former team with the winning goal in the closing minutes of the match.
