The message came this week from Police spokesman Coleman Easton who said: "Members of the public are advised to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency.'' Mr. Easton explained that the warning was issued after a number of fake Bermudian $100 and $50 have circulated through Island shops recently.

And he added that these counterfeits could be easily recognised because they did not have a watermark.

Anyone coming across such a bill is advised to contact the Police immediately.
