The beginning of the week proved to be a busy one for the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.

A total of 19,597 shares worth $354,900 changed hands throughout the day, with BELCO Holdings Ltd. leading the way as its share price rose $1.40 (seven percent) to close up at $21.50, with 605 shares traded.

Devonshire Industries Ltd. also enjoyed a good day's trading, finishing up 25 cents (1.9 percent) at $13.75, as 700 shares were transacted.

On the flipside, Argus Group Holdings Ltd. lost 75 cents (4.8 percent) off its share value to close at $15, with 500 shares traded, and Bermuda Container Services Ltd. dropped 10 cents (0.7 percent) to finish on $14.50, as 2,100 shares changed hands.

Overall, the Index was down 3.18 points (0.06 percent) at 4,965.27.

The BSX Insurance Index also dropped 1.71 percent to close at 1,176.05.
