Sims is tied for 35th
Michael Sims slipped down the leaderboard in the second stage of Q School despite shooting par in the second round at Lake Jovita Country Club, Florida.
Bermuda's number one golfer is tied in 35th position on three-under-par after firing an even-par 72 yesterday, which included two birdies and two bogeys with two rounds left to play.
The 28-year-old had made a solid start in Wednesday's first round with a three-under-par 68 including four birdies and one bogey that had left him tied in 19th position.
In order to retain his Nationwide Tour status, or possibly go one better and secure an even more lucrative PGA Tour Card, Sims needs to progress to the third and final phase of the gruelling qualifying process.
The former Rhodes University graduate earned his Nationwide Tour card through reaching the final phase of Q School qualifying last year. In six previous attempts he had failed to get past the second stage.
