Breaking News: Ministry of Culture scoops Bermuda Day Parade float awards
The Ministry of Culture and Social Rehabilitation has scooped three awards in the Bermuda Day Parade float contests.
The Government department won the Premier’s Award for Best Float, the Minister’s Award for Most Original, and the Best Government Department.
Meanwhile, Smith’s Parish Council won the Best Community/Volunteer/Political Award and the Ruth Thomas Award (Heritage Award).
The Bermuda Agriculture Group also scooped two awards, with the LCCA Award for Best Charitable Organisation and the Reggie Ming Award for Most Beautiful.
The Corporation of Hamilton won the Chamber of Commerce Award for Best Commercial. Kat King Productions was the runner-up.
Pembroke Parish Council was awarded the Recycling Category Award.
Sandy’s Secondary Middle School won the DJ Williams Award for Best School – Middle.
Minister of Culture and Social Rehabilitation, Neletha Butterfield, said: “I wish to take this opportunity to thank the hundreds of people who volunteered their time and expertise to make today possible.
“It is your commitment to community and service that is a true representation of what Bermuda Day is all about.
