BREAKING NEWS: Khano's Revs lose third successive MLS final
New England Revolution 1 Houston Dynamo 2 (full time)
FULL TIME: It's all over and it's heartbreak again for the Revolution as Houston are proclaimed champions of the MLS.
Khano Smith did himself and his Island proud with a superb first-half performance, but the Houston defence paid more careful attention to the winger in the second period and managed to limit his influence on the game.
Agony for Steve Nicol's men who are bridesmaids again.

90 mins: There will be three minutes of injury time for the revs to try to avoid a third successive MLS Cup final defeat.
86 mins: A Twellman header wins a corner for the Revs and from the flag-kick midfielder Jeff Larentowicz sends in a fierce header from point-blank range. It has goal written all over it but Onstad saves it with his legs without knowing much about it.
82 mins: The Revs continue to press as Dorman chests down for Noonan to fire in a shot from 22 yards, but it's not got enough power to bother keeper Onstad.
78 mins: Just 12 minutes left for the Revs to grab an equaliser and Smith sends in a good cross from the left, substitute Andy Dorman gets a head on it but Onstad saves comfortably.
74 mins: GOAL! It's all going wrong for the Revs as De Rosario puts Houston ahead with a stupendous header from 15 yards out from a right-wing cross.
73 mins: Ralston sends over a delightful cross from the right but as twellman moves in for the kill, Onstad gets his fingertips to the ball to divert it away from the in-form striker.
64 mins: Smith can consider himself lucky to still be on the field. The winger took on Craig Waibel and after both players fell down in a heap the Houston man berated Khano, probably claiming he dived. With the ref just a yard away, Khano then head butted Waibel on the chin and the Houston man fell over. The referee shows Khano a yellow which proabably should have a red.
61 mins: GOAL! 1-1. Disaster for the Revs as Houston equalise out of the blue thanks to some sloppy defending by the Revs, who fail to clear Mullin's cross which leads to striker Ngwenya stabbing in from close range at the second attempt.
55 mins: The Revs could have had a second in the opening minute of the second half when midfielder Pat Noonan latched onto a through-ball but Onstad came out quickly to save with his legs.
As the ABC team sing Khano's praises for his impressive first-half display, the former Hornet shows his defensive prowess, sliding in to halt a Houston right-wing attack.
Dwayne De Rosario then opens up the Revs defence with a run down the left but his cross ends up with a shot flying well wide.
HALF-TIME: Khano and the Revs go in at the break with a lead they just about deserve after an entertaining first period.
Ralston almost doubled that lead in the one minute of first-half injury time when a searching cross from the right found him all alone beyond the far post, but his first touch was not great and left him with too acute an angle to shoot from and he fired it straight at Onstad who was able to beat it away for a corner.
Khano can be happy with a solid shift in the first 45 minutes, complete with a flash of brilliance that Twellamn should have capped with a second goal.
Dynamo will certainly throw everything at the Revs in the second half, but Steve Nicol's men are experts at holding 1-0 leads, as they showed in their play-off victories over New York and Chicago.
40 mins: The Revs are coming under some pressure now as first the Dynamo hit the bar and then striker Joseph Ngwenya heads just wide from a left-wing cross by Brad Davis, with the Revolution defence apparently snoozing.
32 mins: Smith makes a brilliant run through the left side of the Dynamo defence, skipping two tackles. Instead of having a crack at goal himself, he unselfishly squres the ball to Twellman whose left-foot shot from 15 yards is well saved by Houston keeper Pat Onstad, scrambling low to his right. The Bermudian has really made his mark now.
20 mins: GOAL: 1-0 to the Revs as US national team striker Taylor Twellman rises majestically at the far post to plant a powerful header in the right-hand corner of the Dynamo net. The goal came from an incisive pass by Shalrie Joseph through to Steve Ralston on the right wing and Ralston found the lethal Twellman with a pinpoint cross.
10 mins: A lively start to the game as both side get stuck in at a frantic pace. Tackles flying and goalmouth action at both ends.
A dangerous cross from the left causes panic in the Revs defence after four minutes and goalkeeper Matt Reis lets the ball slip from his grasp , but after some pinball in the crowded penalty area, it end up back in his hands.
Khano makes his first mark on the game on six minutes, curling in a superb cross from the left. Taylor Twellman jumps well but it's just over his head and despite muted Revs' claims for a foul, the ref waves play on.
Bermuda's Khano Smith starts on the left side of midfield for New England Revolution as the Revs seek their first MLS Cup. After losing the final in the past two years, the Revs will be hoping it's third time lucky against the team that defeated them on penalties in last year's final, Houston Dynamo.
