The Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society is putting on a performance of the Slipper Pantaloon at the Daylesford Theatre at 8 p.m. A series of benefit performances, “The Slippered Pantaloon” Reflections on age in memory of a young life cut short. The evening begins with a selection of verse taken from the works of Shakespeare, Ogden Nash, Dylan Thomas and others. This introductory section is followed by a series of reminiscences by Mark Twain. In this, he considers such diverse issues as horse-back riding, other people’s habits, the noisome interviewer, the fateful appearance of Halley’s Comet and he offers advice on how best to be seventy. The Bermuda Festival kicks off with comedian Ennio at the City Hall Theatre at 8 p.m. with Saturday showings at 2.30 p.m. and 8 p.m..
