Jones lets it slip . . .

Antoine Jones goes into today's final leg of the Pan-Am Games individual ten-pin bowling event carrying Bermuda's best hopes.

Jones is in 15th place after the opening six games at the Sebelen Bowling Centre in Santo Domingo yesterday.

High games of 212 and 222 had seen him hovering just outside the top ten but a 182 in the sixth combined with his rivals' scores led to him slipping down the standings. Jones averaged 196.50 and his total was 1,179.

Team-mate Steven Riley is in 30th place out of the 32 competitors. He scored a high of 234 in the third game, only to suffer a 134 in the sixth. His overall average was 174.50 and total 1,047.

In the women's event, Dianne (Bobbie) Ingham leads the charge. After her six games she stands 17th out of 32 competitors with a total of 1,100 and an average of 183.33.

Team-mate June Dill is 23rd after scoring 1,059 and averaging 176.50.

Ingham's high was a 212 in Game Three, while Dill scored 191 also in Game Three.

Action continues for the women this morning and the men this afternoon.
