Shrubb set for Worlds
Michael Shrubb is set to take his bow on the world squash stage later this year after being named in Bermuda's World Junior team for India.
The tournament takes place in Chennai in August and Shrubb, 14, has been named along with James Stout, 17, Stephen Smith, 18, and Justin Robinson, 17.
Two alternates have also been named for the team and they are Andrew Stout and Graham Counsell, both 14.
Bermuda has competed in every World Junior Men's Championships since 1992 and in Princeton New Jersey in 1998 achieved the highest finish of 25 in the world.
More than 130 countries play squash around the world and this is the pinnacle of the sport for the junior boys.
"We don't expect the boys to win the event when we are competing against countries like England, Egypt and Australia - we have to be realistic about our goals," said director of squash Ross Triffitt. "Our goal is to improve on our previous highest position of 25 and to continue our development of our athletes for future events."
