A thief stole money after breaking into a holiday-maker?s home.

The victim, a visitor to the Island, told Police he returned to his room, in Southampton, and found the intruder in there, on Wednesday, shortly before 11.30 p.m.

He confronted the offender, but the man escaped with $250 in cash. Officers are investigating the incident. Witnesses or anyone with information should telephone Police on 295-0011 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477.
