HOP on board the North Hamilton Train Tour every Thursday night and learn more about the historic significance of the area.The train tours, launched this week by the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, will take guests and locals on a 105-minute trip from Front Street.

Guide Michael Bradshaw will share the story of the development of this area, including that of black businesses and life from the period of segregation in the 1940s to the present time.

During segregation, North Hamilton provided for the needs of all the black people who lived there and businesses were developed by prominent black families who lived in the area, making it the vibrant “back of town”.

The Thursday night tours start at 6 and will run from May until October 18.
