Scooter rider hurt in weekend collision with car
A teenager was injured in a collision between a car and a scooter in Pembroke on Saturday night.
A police spokesman said that police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Marsh Folly Road, near the junction with Blackwatch Pass, at about 8.40pm.
“It appears that a 55-year-old Paget man driving a car along Marsh Folly Road attempted to turn on to Blackwatch Pass, when one of the car’s mirrors was struck from behind by a 17-year-old local male riding a 50cc scooter,” the spokesman said.
“The injured young man was treated by emergency medical technicians at the scene, before being transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further medical care.
“At last check, the teen remained in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.”
Police diverted traffic away from the area for about an hour while the scene was processed.
