Alleged sexual assault victim’s father is witness in trial
A man recalled his teenage daughter’s subdued behaviour after an alleged sexual assault two years ago.
The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told Magistrates’ Court yesterday that he dropped his daughter off in Warwick on January 28, 2023, so she could take part in a photoshoot.
He said a man met his daughter at the car and the two walked back to the vehicle about 2½ hours later.
The daughter told the court this weekthat the man had watched her change clothes and made her perform a sexual act during the photoshoot, which took place when she was under the age of 18.
The father said yesterday: “She was very quiet [in the car after the photoshoot], I figured she was just tired.”
The 33-year-old defendant denied sexually assaulting the woman and intruding on her privacy.
Magistrate Craig Attridge ordered that the trial continue on July 23 and extended the man’s bail until that time.
