Court Street to host ‘Biggest Christmas Festival’ this Sunday
Court Street’s popular Christmas market makes its return this Sunday with festive family fun and an opportunity to win prizes.
Feria Alpha, project manager for the Court Street Market, organiser of “the Biggest Christmas Festival”, said the community should come out to celebrate the season and support local businesses.
There will be at least 35 vendors, live entertainment and a raffle, with a motorbike as the top prize.
Ms Alpha told The Royal Gazette: “This is the Biggest Christmas Market Festival and it is very important to us, as stakeholders and vendors, that our community comes together to show light and joy while enjoying the festivities.
“People can come out and win prizes just by spending $25 and supporting a Court Street business or a market vendor.
“If you spend more than $25, you get more tickets and more chances to win. This is the first time we are offering a motorbike as a prize, and that is thanks to Custom Mechanics.
“We have other prizes as well, including grocery packs worth $500 and Belco vouchers. There will be free hot chocolate and it’s a great opportunity to do some last-minute shopping.
“We have everything from personalised Christmas ornaments, Bermuda Triangle bags and Soap Box which has handcrafted soaps. There is handcrafted jewellery and toys as well as food and drinks vendors.”
Featured entertainment includes Leaf Ministries, Gombey Dancers and music from Rickeesha Binns.
Ms Alpha added: “It is complimentary and open to all, so come out and support northeast Hamilton.
“It is the biggest Christmas Festival here in the beautiful islands of Bermuda and we have the best variety of vendors where we celebrate the culture of Bermuda.
“This is where everyone comes to eat, shop and dance in the streets. Be merry on Court Street.”
Sponsors include the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, the City of Hamilton, Main Point Realty and Soul Food.
The event is to take over Court Street from 1pm to 6pm.
