Hospital releases motorcyclists involved in Shelly Bay crash

Two men who were injured during a motorcycle collision have been released from hospital, police said today.

The riders, understood to be a 57-year-old from Hamilton and a 51-year-old from Pembroke, were travelling in opposite directions when the crash took place.

The incident happened at about 3.15pm on Wednesday, in the North Shore Road area of Hamilton Parish, near the junction of Lemon Grove Road.

Emergency service personnel treated both men on the scene for potentially serious injuries before they were taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further medical assessment.

The injuries were later discovered to be less serious than originally thought.

Traffic flow was reduced to one lane for about 90 minutes while the collision scene was processed.

Police thanked those who have come forward to help with the investigation and encouraged other witnesses to call Constable Tyler Nelmes on 211 or e-mail tnelmes@bps.bm.
