Boulevard facing must-win game against Cougars

Boulevard Blazers are running out of time in their quest to avoid relegation from the Premier Division.

With four matches left before the end of the season, Boulevard are rooted to the bottom of the ten-team standings with six points as they head into their clash with Devonshire Cougars in a rescheduled fixture at Devonshire Rec on Wednesday night (8pm).

Blazers have won just once 14 encounters, with that victory coming against fellow relegation candidates Young Men’s Social Club on January 18 and survival is not going to be easy, with their last three matches coming against teams fighting for the title in Dandy Town, Devonshire Colts and PHC.

While victories have eluded them, Troy Smith’s side have shown some fight, as they did last month against PHC in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

In the first league meeting between the two sides on January 4, Cougars triumphed 2-0.

Cougars, sixth in the standings, have a chance to finish in the top four if they post positive results in their penultimate fixtures, provided X-Roads and North Village stumble along the way.
