Police are investigating a crash overnight that left a man in “very serious” condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital — with a second man sought by authorities.

At about 11.15pm on Thursday, police and other first responders were sent to a report of a crash on Harbour Road, near Lower Ferry, involving a single motorcycle.

“Initial information suggests the motorcycle was travelling east when the rider lost control and [struck] a wall,” a police spokeswoman said.

“One man was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with injuries described as very serious.”

The spokeswoman added: “There are indications that a second male may have been on the motorcycle; however, he was not present at the scene when police arrived. That individual is urged to contact police as soon as possible.”

Traffic diversions have been in place at Highwood Lane and Chapel Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone with information to call 211 at the earliest opportunity.
