Prisoner denies threats, attempted assault on officers

An inmate of Westgate prison has denied threatening two corrections officers on multiple occasions, and attempting to assault one of them.

LeVeck Roberts, 32, was accused of making threats to two officers on four different dates and attempting the assault on another date.

Magistrates’ Court heard that on March 18, 2026, he told one female corrections officer: “Come outside, I want to punch you in your head. That’s OK because I am still going to set your car on fire.”

The other alleged threats were made to another female corrections officer.

The court heard that on January 13, 2026, he told that officer: “I will send someone to your house again.”

In a further charge, he was accused of telling her on February 9, 2026: “I will spit in your face, I will spit in your face, you’re so rude.

“I had your car smashed up before and I will blow up your house. Don’t go home tonight, I will slap you. Come in the library, it will be off camera. I wouldn’t have to go to Supreme Court if I slap you.”

Then on February 17, 2026, he allegedly told her: “Make sure you’re here at 12 o’clock, I have some spit for you today.”

Mr Roberts also denied attempting to assault the same officer with intend to do bodily harm while she was acting in the execution of her duty on May 1, 2025.

The matter was set to be heard on June 29.
