Cars damaged in separate crashes

Two cars were and a building wall were damaged in separate road crashes on National Heroes Day, police reported.

A spokesman said a man was driving west along Middle Road, Paget when he struck the side of a building occupied by Sticks and Stones cabinet shop.

The driver sustained a knee laceration in the crash, which police responded to at about 8.20am.

The spokesman added that another man was travelling west along St David’s Road, near Clarke’s Hill, when he crashed into a roadside bank.

The crash caused the car to flip on to its side, but the driver was able to exit the vehicle before police arrived at the scene.

Officers dispatched to the incident shortly after 3pm found the man sitting on a wall — he was examined by medical personnel, but did not report any injuries.
