Age Concern to host public meeting

Age Concern Bermuda invited the community to hear more about the organisation, its programme and services at an event to be held this month.

The charity will host a general public meeting on October 27 from midday to 2pm at the former TN Tatem Middle School on Middle Road in Warwick.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, is the featured speaker and will deliver a message to the public as part of the schedule.

Tanya Bule, the charity’s chairwoman and Mercedes Pringle-DeSilva, its executive director, will also offer remarks.

Attendees will receive an overview of Age Concern’s achievements and programme progress over the past year, along with a financial report and acknowledgments of those who have contributed to the organisation's work.

The charity said that the forum will provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the work being carried out to support older adults and the organisation’s continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors across the island.

Age Concern said through its education, advocacy, information and referral services, hardship assistance, membership benefits and long-term care programmes, the organisation continues to provide essential resources and support.

It said as the island’s population ages, greater awareness and community engagement remain vital to ensuring older adults are supported, informed and empowered.

The meeting offers an opportunity to strengthen such connections and highlight the collective role the community can play in supporting Bermuda's older population, the charity added.

The event will also be accessible virtually via Zoom and residents are encouraged to visit ageconcern.bm/events for more information.
