North Village unveil 2026 scholarship recipients
North Village footballer Anijahé dos Santos Martin has been named among the Pembroke club’s 2026 scholarship award recipients.
The versatile player, who plays for the club’s senior team, has been granted funding to go towards studying kinesiology at the Western University in Canada.
Santos is one of two club footballers receiving scholarship grants from the club this year along with Amir Dill, who is studying engineering at De Montfort University in England.
Club netballer Nevaeh Thompson Swan and team administrator Shakilla Davis are the remaining scholarship beneficiaries this year. Thompson Swan is studying business at Wingate University and Davis special education at Liberty University in the United States.
“North Village Community Club is proud to celebrate our 2026 scholarship recipients. These four members of our community are taking the Red Army’s values into the classroom,” the club said in a statement.
“These awards recognise more than grades. They honour discipline, resilience, leadership, sportsmanship and service to this club and community. Each of you has shown that being part of North Village is more than just a game.”
DeVrae Tankard, the North Village president, added: “We are happy to have these individuals and their families part of our village and excited to see them grow during their educational journeys.”
