Manders and Tucker reach level three

Manders has been certified as a level three coach along with Tucker after a week-long course in Florida

Two national team coaches have been fully accredited by the Australian Cricket Board as level three coaches, the Bermuda Cricket Board announced yesterday.

Arnold Manders, the Bermuda head coach, and Lorenzo Tucker, the team’s match analyst, attended the week-long course in Florida and have now completed all the project work and coaching experience requirements to be certified at level three.

“I am very pleased to see that both Arnold and Lorenzo have been recognised by the ACB as Level 3 coaches,” said Lloyd fray, the BCB president.

“Both of them have been outstanding contributors to our local programme at both international, junior elite and domestic levels.

“I trust that they will continue to apply their knowledge, passion and experience as we work together in our great game.”

The BCB have selected the National Academy Under-13 squad to participate in the winter training programme which begins on Sunday.

The players were chosen after trials at Shelly Bay Field on Saturday and Sunday. The management team consists of Cal Waldron, Clay Smith and Joseph Butterfield.

Fray said: “I would like to congratulate these young players on their selection to the Under-13 National Academy squad. The under-13 is the foundation of our National Academy programme and players will receive specialised training.

“I encourage all the young players that attended the trials who were not successful to continue to work hard at their game so that they continue to improve.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our major youth academy sponsors, the Bank of Bermuda Foundation and the XL Foundation. Without their help this programme could not continue to flourish.”

Squad: Jamar Stovell, Jerez Eve, LeiLanni Nesbeth, Tai Cariah, Alex Withers-Clarke, Nirobi Mills, Malachi Trott, De-Nyi Thomas, Kevin Sunga, Tyler Hurdle, Iyaun Smith, Dominic Sabir, Jazir Warner, Jarryd Richardson, Christopher Raymond, Miguel Postlethwaite.
