Pizza House thief stole less than $10

A 56-year-old Pembroke man has admitted trespassing on private property and stealing cash.

Antwan Lewis, a former employee of Shelly Bay Pizza House, admitted climbing through the back window of the Hamilton Parish establishment and taking money to the value of just under $10.

A social inquiry report was ordered in relation to the matter.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo heard Lewis entered the property on June 3 and set off the alarm system.

CCTV footage later identified Lewis as the trespasser. He admitted the offence during a police interview.

During that interview, Lewis said he had stolen the cash in revenge, adding: “I just don’t like the f*****g people”.

After pleading guilty to the offence in court, Lewis told the court: “I’m going through some changes and I knew I was wrong, I’m just sorry for doing this.”

Lewis is next due to appear in Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
