The Bermuda office of accounting giant KPMG has hired a 'Raleigh Venturer' on a short-term work programme.

Ciara Ruth was one of 11 young Bermudians to return recently from a ten-week Raleigh International expedition in Sabah, Malaysia, on the Northern side of the island of Borneo.

All of the young Bermudians who took part in the recent expedition ? which was jointly funded by Government and the private sector ? are required to continue their education and also to get practical work experience, including the option to do so through the National Training Board.

As a group, the Venturers must also develop, lead and carry out a community project as a team in Bermuda.

At KPMG, Ms Ruth been assigned to the firm's Corporate Recovery practice where she will be assisting with numerous projects.

She may also be able to join the firm's student programme once she completes her university studies overseas.
