LIVE UPDATE: Bermuda lose by 65 runs D/L method

12.36am: Romaine made exactly 100, while Kelly was unbeaten on eight. Bermuda lost by 65 runs D/L method.

12.35am: Wicket. It’s all over, Romaine goes for one big hit too many and is caught on the long-on boundary by Pieter Groenewald.

12.34am: Romaine hundred. Superb innings from Romaine, and a richly deserved hundred. The century came off 72 balls, included seven fours, and six sixes. 211-9.

12.33am: Bermuda 210-9, four overs left. It’s been a fine effort, but 277 is a big ask from here.

12.26am: Two hundred up. That’s a superb effort. Run rate is more than ten an over, but given that Bermuda never looked like getting to three figures, who’s to say what might happen.

12.20am: It’s getting nervy around here. Against all odds, Bermuda are creeping towards 200. Romaine’s 94 not out, Stefan Kelly’s doing his bit as well, four runs off 34 balls. Target is 277.

12.06am: Romaine’s cameo innings continues apace. He’s on 81 from 49 balls, and has hit five sixes. Less than a hundred runs needed. Bermuda 179-9, 12 overs remaining.

11.48am: Romaine 50. That’s a fine innings in what is likely to be a losing effort. Romaine’s 50 came from 32 balls, and included five fours, and three sixes

11.41am: It took Jones a long time to leave the crease, and he appeared to exchange pleasantries with the umpire on his way off.

11.40am: Wicket. That’s a poor decision. Jones is given out lbw, but he was some way out of his crease and the ball wasn’t exactly straight. Bermuda 129-9.

11.39am: Interesting move, Bermuda take their power-play.

11.35am: Bermuda 124-8. There are 19 overs remaining, and 153 runs to get. Romaine (33*) and Jones (22*) are looking set, stranger things have happened.

11.28am: The wicket is drying out and Romaine and Jones are making batting look slightly easier than their team-mates. Boundaries are coming thick and fast at the moment, it’s entertaining if nothing else. 116-8.

11.25am: Hundred up for Bermuda. Irving Romaine (22*) and Malachi Jones (11*) see Bermuda to three figures. Only 177 runs more required

11.14am: Wicket. Shannon Rayner (4) is eighth man out for Bermuda, trying to pull Christie Viljoen, he gets an edge and is caught behind by Craig Williams. Bermuda 86-8.

11.11am: Irving Romaine takes the view that attack is the only way to go. He launches two huge sixes off van der Westhuizen, the second of which goes out of the ground. Entertaining, but not likely to mean anything. Bermuda 85-7, 24 overs remaining.

10.57am: Wicket. Justin Pitcher tries to hit van der Westhuizen back over his head, but instead gives an easy caught and bowled. Bermuda 63-7.

10.56am: Bermuda are six down, they are still 215 runs from victory and have 28 overs still to get the runs. The batting has been less than impressive, and at the moment they will be lucky to get to 100.

10.54am: Wicket. Rodney Trott becomes latest Bermuda batsman to give his wicket away. Tries to sweep LP van der Westhuizen, the ball hits the toe of the bat and loops to Sarel Burger in the slips. Bermuda 62-6.

10.49am: It's not looking good for Bermuda, batsmen are coming and going far too quickly. It'll take a mammoth effort from the likes of Rodney Trott, Justin Pitcher and Malachi Jones to rescue this situation.

10.47am: Wicket. Crockwell starts to feel the pressure and hits a lofted drive straight down the throat of Pieter Groenewald at mid-off. Bermuda are 57-5

10.42am: Wicket. A succession of dot balls from spinner Bernard Scholtz and Edness (9) tries to force the ball away but only succeeds in yorking himself to a full length ball. Bermuda 57-4.

10.33am: Fifty up for Bermuda. Opener Fiqre Crockwell (20) is still plugging away, he and Jekon Edness (7) are trying to get the tourists back on the front foot.

10.17am: Wicket. Stephen Outerbridge is given out lbw, difficult to tell from here, but he was trying to flick it away to leg, so maybe he fell across as he was looking to hit it. Bermuda 27-3.

10.11am: The Bermuda skipper isn't happy. The players were taken back out in the rain, and the pitch is slippy, and unreliable. There are bound to be questions asked about that later on.

10.10am: Wicket. Hemp drives on the up and gets there early, hitting an easy catch to Gerhard Rudolph in the covers. Hemp’s out for 14 and Bermuda are 26-2.

10am: Hemp drops down on to one knee and square drives Craig Williams for six. Bermuda 19-1 off five overs

9.50am: Dropped. David Hemp is put down in the slips by Sarel Burger, Namibia might live to regret that.

9.43am: Wicket. Worst possible start for Bermuda, Christie Viljoen has Foggo caught behind by Raymond van Schoor second ball. Bermuda 0-1.

9.42am: Fiqre Crockwell and Chris Foggo walk to the crease and we’re under way. It’s still raining, which makes you wonder why they’ve started

9.40am: That’s unlikely to be the final total however, there’s plenty of rain around.

9.38am: The curse of Duckworth/Lewis strikes again. Namibia made 268-6 off 48.3 overs, which has been adjusted to 276, and Bermuda will now have to score 277 to win off 48 overs. Go figure.

9.13am: Teams are taking an early lunch and that’s the end of Namibia’s innings.

The umpires are working out what Bermuda will have to chase, and we’ll bring you that information when we have it.

Justin Pitcher finished as the pick of the Bermuda bowlers with 3-44 from 9.3 overs, while Namibian batsman Nicholas Scholtz was stranded on 41 not out.

8.55am: It’s raining again, there are 1.3 overs remaining in the innings, and the players are coming off again. Namibia 270-6.

8.51am: Wicket. Pitcher picks up his third wicket of the match. LP van der westhuizen (10) holes out to Malachi Jones on the mid-wicket boundary.

New batsman Christie Viljoen has a lucky escape first ball, a nick falling just short of David Hemp.

8.50am: Big shout for lbw against Scholtz, but that ball from Malachi Jones looked like it was going down the leg side, even so, good, tight over. 267-5, two overs left.

8.47am: Namibia 264-5, three overs to go. Two in the power-play.

8.46am: Dropped. Jekon Edness lets a catch go through his hands. That’s a big let off for Nicholas Scholtz, and that would have been another wicket for Pitcher.

He’s been the pick of the bowlers

8.41am: 250 up for Namibia. A slash outside off from Scholtz, and the ball flies over Jekon Edness’ head bringing up the 250.

8.39am: Nicholas Scholtz has taken a liking to Stefan Kelly’s bowling. The Namibian batsman launches Kelly for two huge sixes in one over, that’ll help the run rate. Namibia 248-5.

8.35am: Wicket. Sarel Burger goes, just nine short of his century. A snorter of a delivery from Justin Pitcher rips out Burger’s

8.31am: So Namibia still have their power play to go. Apparently 300 is a par score on this ground. Namibia are 234-4, with six overs to go.

8.30am: Back out after a short delay and the temperature has dropped considerably after that downpour.

8.09am: Nope, in they come. It’s belting it down. Namibia 234-4, Burger is 91 not out.

8.08am: Namibia take their power play. This could make things interesting. Well, it will if they stay out there.

8.05am: It’s about to chuck it down. The rain is coming down like a curtain over the mountains. The ground staff are already waiting by the covers. Here it comes.

7.57am: Bermuda need to stop the bleeding, Namibia are picking up runs at will, and with wickets in hand will fancy their chances of putting on a lot of runs in these final few overs. 222-4, eight overs remaining.

7.53am: Into the last ten overs. Namibia are 214-4 with nine overs left, Bermuda really need to get Burger (79*) out if they are to have any hope of keeping the home side below 300.

7.47am: 200 up for Namibia. A four from Burger brings up the 200, although he’s slightly fortunate not to get out as his cover drive is in the air and just out of the reach of Chris Foggo.

7.40am: Wicket. Snyman goes for another big hit off Foggo, and is caught by Malachi Jones at long-on. That's a big wicket for Bermuda who will be looking to restrict their hosts to around 280. 38 overs gone and Namibia are 193-4.

7.35am: 50 for Gerrie Snyman. The big Namibian smashes Rodney Trott for another six over cow corner. Snyman’s 50 came from 58 balls, and included three fours, and two sixes. Snyman and Burger (66*) have put on 90 runs in 18 overs. Namibia are 190-3 with 37 overs gone.

7.20am: Rodney Trott speeds through an over, and here comes Chris Foggo to replace Outerbridge. Namibia are 167-3.

7.17am: Stephen Outerbridge has just finished bowling his fifth over. He’s taken one wicket, that of skipper Williams (see 6.29am) and conceded 32 runs in the process, seven of which have been wide. Bolwers Ryan Steede and Jordan Desilva are both missing from the team. I’m just saying, is all.

7.11am: 150-3. Namibia reach their next milestone with a big six from Gerrie Snyman who clubs Rodney Trott over long-on. 31.1 overs gone and run rate is hovering around five an over.

6.59am: 50 for Sarel Burger. The Namibian batsman reaches his half-century with a flick off his legs. Burger’s 50 included two fours, and came off 70 balls. Namibia 133-3

6.50am: Irving Romaine runs back on to the pitch with a heavily bandaged right hand. The former skipper got a nasty knock on his thumb in the second over, and while not really ready to field, has to get back out so he can bat reasonably high up.

6.29am: Wicket. Outerbridge more than makes up for that wide by getting the crucial wicket of Namibia skipper Craig Williams. Williams miss-times a hook shot and is caught on the boundary by Justin Pitcher.

6.28am: Hundred up. Namibia reach 100-2 after Stephen Outerbridge sends down his third wide ball in two overs. It’s taken just 19.1 overs for Namibia to reach three figures, the home side are rattling along at more than five an over.

6.12am: Wicket. Justin Pitcher makes the breakthrough, getting van Schoor to hook a short ball down the throat of Stefan Kelly at deep backward square. Van Schoor goes for 39 and Namibia are 81-2.

6.02am: Apart from a couple of half chances, where Burger and van Schoor have guided the ball just out of reach of Bermuda’s fielders, neither batsmen looks unduly trouble by the Bermuda attack. 15 overs gone and Namibia are 71-1.

5.38am: Namibia 53-1. The home side have recovered from the early loss of Rudolph and van Shoor (33*) and Sarel Burger (14*) are fairly chugging along. It’s taken them just 8.4 overs to bring up the firfty, and van Schoor is looking in fine form.

He crashed Malachi Jones for a straight six from a full length delivery, and brought up the fifty with a glorious cover drive for four.

5.08am: Wicket. Disaster for Namibia. Openers Raymond van Schoor and Gerhard Rudolph get their wires crossed on a quick single and Rudolph is left stranded in the middle of the pitch and is run out by Pitcher. Namibia 11-1

4.58am: Namibia 10-0. Jones opens the bolwing for Bermuda, and there is enough to keep him interested as the first three balls of the over are edged through the slips by Gerhard Rudolph. Jones is getting plenty of bounce.

4.30am: Bermuda have won the toss and will field in the first of two one day matches against Namibia at United Cricket Ground, Windhoek.

The home side have made several changes to the team that was so successful in the Intercontinental Shield match. Pace bowler Louis Klazinga, who took five wickets in the second innings is left out in favour of Pieter Groenewald, while spinner Toby Verwey, who took five wickets in the first innings also steps aside.

For Bermuda, Shannon Rayner makes his first senior start for his country, while Justin Pitcher is also included after coming through a late fitness test yesterday.

Namibia: G Rudolph, R van Schoor, S Burger, C Williams, G Snyman, N Scholtz, LP van der Westhuizen, C Viljoen, W Groenewald, B Scholtz, P Groenewald.

Bermuda: F Crockwell, C Foggo, D Hemp, S Outerbridge, I Romaine, S Rayner, M Jones, J Edness, R Trott, J Pitcher, S Kelly.
