The husband of Mary Elizabeth McKee, the New Zealand woman who lost her life in a boat collision on Thursday night, has been identified as Arthur McKee by a New Zealand web site.

Mr McKee, 69, was thrown from the Zodiac boat in Hamilton Harbour, along with his wife and a 26-year-old British man, when they struck another vessel shortly before 11pm.

Mrs McKee, 62, died that evening, while her husband, a property developer in Christchurch, was reportedly in critical but stable condition at the hospital with a head injury,

As of Friday, the injured British man was also in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The couple were described as keen and experienced sailors. While they were not involved with Team NZ, they had come as supporters for the America’s Cup.
