BSX ends week 6.82% lower

Six stocks finished lower on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week.

International company Ozics Holdings was the biggest decliner, losing $2.08 (58.10 per cent), to close at $1.50 after 1,000 shares changed hands. Ozics is a sales and marketing company operated under licence from a Finland-based corporation.

Among domestic companies, the largest decline was registered by West Hamilton Holdings, which lost 95 cents (15.8 per cent), to close at $5.05 after 2,700 shares were traded. Butterfield Bank saw its stock decline by 17 cents (9.1 per cent) during the week, to close at $1.70 after 98,300 shares changed hands.

Bermuda Aviation Services was 15 cents lower (4.8 per cent) at $3 after 600 shares traded, and BF&M closed at $17.25, down 75 cents (4.2 per cent) after 8,100 shares changed hands.

HSBC was another faller, losing 15 cents (1.57 per cent) to close at $9.35 after 1,593 shares were traded.

The two stocks that rose on the Index during the course of the week were KeyTech, which was up five cents (1.8 per cent) at $2.80 after 2,000 shares traded, and the Government’s $50m 4.75 per cent Senior Notes, which improved by $1 (1 per cent) to close at $106 after 50 changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed at 1,219.29, down 83.17 points (6.82 per cent) on the week. The BSX Insurance Index was 8.28 points higher (0.53 per cent), at 1,562.
