Butterfield shares gain 1% in New York

No shares traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index remained unchanged on 2,611.28.
For the week, the index fell 1.02 per cent, driven by a 1.31 per cent fall in the value of Butterfield Bank shares.
On Friday, Butterfield’s US-listed shares gained 38 cents, or almost 1 per cent, to close at $38.67 on the New York Stock Exchange on below-average volume of 94,843 shares.
Butterfield last traded on the BSX at $38.50.
On Friday, the BSX Insurance Index gained 3.5 points, or 0.2 per cent, to close on 1,767.46.
