Youngsters gear artwork to road safety

Youngsters channelled their creativity into road safety artwork that has gone on display in a special exhibition.

The Draw 4 Change competition, launched by Rubis Energy Bermuda and the Bermuda Road Safety Council, was designed to support The Royal Gazette’s Drive for Change campaign.

Jermaine Simons, the Rubis sales manager, said: “Our hope is that by channelling our children’s creative talents via the artwork contest, the public can better understand how we can stay safe on our roads by practising safer driving habits.”

A winner, second place, third place and honourable mentions will be chosen from each of the school categories.

Primary-school and middle-school pupils from all over the island were invited to come up with the 175 pieces of art on display at City Hall.

Their work will be on show until August 6 and the exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.
