A police raid on a Warwick home that netted less than a gram of cannabis saw a 49-year-old man fined heavily in Magistrates’ Court.
Lindley Scott Sr admitted the July 19, 2012 offence, in which police armed with a search warrant called upon his Ord Valley Lane residence at 5.45am.
The court heard that Scott, asked if he was in possession of drugs, told officers: “I have a spliff of marijuana; that’s it.”
A bag from the dresser in Scott’s bedroom was subsequently found to contain 0.85g of cannabis.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Scott $500.
