Teen charged with $25,000 jewellery theft

An 18-year-old man denied the theft of $25,700 in jewellery from a Smith’s house at Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The court heard that Talundae Grant’s alleged haul included a chain, a ring, three bracelets, all in gold, and a fake Rolex watch.

The incident was said in court to have happened at a house in Smith’s on November 28.

Grant, from Warwick, also pleaded not guilty to taking possession of a two iPhones alleged to have been stolen from Digicel’s Hamilton store.

The incident is alleged to have happened between October 23 and December 4.

Magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until January 21.

Grant was released on $2,000 bail on each charge.
