A man has been charged with robbing a convenience store at knifepoint.

Kevin Robinson, 56, from Hamilton Parish, was charged with trespass at Belvin’s Variety Store in Smith’s and the theft of $150, Magistrates’ Court heard.

He was also charged with possession of a three-inch pocket knife. The incident is alleged to have taken place on Tuesday.

Mr Robinson appeared in court on Thursday. He was not required to enter a plea because the case must be heard in Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe remanded Mr Robinson in custody for the July 1 arraignments session at Supreme Court.
