Robinson inspires Somerset to victory

Somerset 112 for fourWarwick 110 all outFour wickets for Jacobi Robinson helped Somerset to a comfortable six wicket win over Western rivals Warwick who are still searching for their first win of the season. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Warwick got off to a slow start with opener Dwayne Adams being dropped twice early on before opening partner Koshun Durrant was bowled by Kamal Easton in the fifth over.Easton picked up his second wicket four overs later when Adams mistimed a straight drive and was caught by Shaquille Jones at mid-off to leave Warwick at 35-2.Following the loss of these early wickets, Lionel Cann (41) and Sanj Dill (10) set about rebuilding the Warwick innings and put on 38 for the third wicket before Dill was bowled by Jordan DeSilva (3 for 22).Robinson’s introduction into the attack in the 18th over saw the game swing Somerset’s way once again. After being hit for two sixes and a four by Cann in his opening seven balls, Robinson picked up the prized wicket of the Warwick player/coach when he mistimed a slog sweep and was caught at deep mid-wicket by Dennico Hollis.Warwick’s lower order batsmen were unable to deal with Robinson’s spin as he finished with impressive figures of 4 for 26 off six overs before DeSilva wrapped up the innings with two wickets in two balls as Warwick lost their last seven wickets for 18 runs and were bowled out in 29 overs.Defending a low total, Warwick were in need of early wickets and got the perfect start when Kiani Darrell had opener Jones caught behind in the first over.
