As Hallowe'en approaches, the Bermuda Police Service warned today that people engaged in antisocial behaviour such as egg-throwing could expect to face arrest.

It came after patrol officers responded to alleged egg-throwing incidents, the latest of which was reported to be on Sunday at Middle Road in the Riviera Road, Southampton area.

A police spokesman said: “The BPS reassure the community that officers are prepared to use all lawful authority to deter and detect such acts of antisocial behaviour, with anyone caught engaging in egg-throwing likely to be arrested.”

As a preventive measure, the police urged parents and shopkeepers to be on the lookout for individuals, especially young persons, attempting to purchase unusually large quantities of eggs.

Residents and businesses can report antisocial behaviour in their area by calling 211, or by visiting the BPS online community reporting portal at portal.police.bm.
