Rider critical after Hamilton Parish collision
A bike rider was in critical condition after a collision between his motorcycle and a car, police said.
Officers and first responders were called to a serious road incident that happened at about 9.15pm on Saturday on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish.
The Bermuda Police Service said it was reported that a male was riding east when he tried to overtake a line of traffic.
It added: “He collided with a motor car just west of the Francis Patton Primary School and was ejected from the bike into the roadway.
“He sustained multiple serious injuries and was left unconscious.
“Upon arrival at the scene, police officers immediately commenced life-saving procedures until emergency medical services attended.”
The BPS said the rider was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
They added: “At last check, he was listed in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
“The motor car driver was not hurt but was left visibly shaken by the incident.
“The roadway remained closed for approximately three hours while the scene was processed by traffic collision investigators.”
The BPS thanked motorists and others members of the public for their patience and co-operation while procedures were carried out.
