Is it a bad thing if support is race-based?

Ewart Brown

Dear Sir,

Considering the economic and social disparity between the black and white communities, resulting from historically deliberate racist policies of governments and perpetuated by all levels of the white community, would it be so terrible if Ewart Brown’s support of black athletes was race-based?

At least it could be seen as an affirmative-action gesture to address the racial injustices that still bedevil us. Certainly, the Government is not likely to attempt to redress the evils of the past, which still affect this society and continue to be so destructive to the black community.
