I’d love to see World Cup stay in South America

Millions around the world will watch tomorrow’s final between Germany and Argentina as the curtain comes down on an exciting World Cup in Brazil.

It has been an enjoyable three weeks of football and now it has come down to the last two in a match between Europe and South America.

Even though the host country are not in the final there will be great interest in the final at the Macaranã which should be a good encounter between two top teams.

I just hope Germany and Argentina come out and attack and give us an entertaining game. Fans attending the match are spending big money for their tickets and deserve to be entertained.

The Germans play like Brazil teams of the past; they know how to keep possession and move off the ball and they have fantastic strikers and a well-rounded team, probably a bit more rounded than Argentina.

The best could still be yet to come from Argentina and Messi, but the Germans are dangerous and they look to be one of the fittest teams in the final.

For all the heat you’ve never heard them complain, they’ve just gone on professionally and done the job and that’s what the Germans are like.

I would like to see Argentina win the final because I would like to see the trophy stay in South American, but with the Germans you never know. Certainly I think it will be much closer than the Germany-Brazil match.

You won’t get that same game, simply because Argentina won’t play like Brazil and throw caution to the wind. Lets just hope that Lionel Messi is able to turn in a fantastic performance and show the world what he is capable of. Certainly I’ll be watching with anticipation of an exciting match.

The Germans, aiming to become the world champions for a fourth time, will look to Müller and Klose to lead their attack while Schurrle coming off the bench can be equally as dangerous. Klose is the tournament’s highest scorer of all-time following his sixteenth goal in the semi-final.

Right now the talk around the bars and clubs is still the manner in which Brazil were thrashed 7-1 by the Germans in Tuesday’s semi-final, the heaviest defeat in a World Cup semi-final and the biggest loss by Brazil in an international match.

I watched in complete shock as Brazil were totally humiliated and I think I’m still dreaming. Brazil certainly didn’t help themselves, they were too offensive, left too many holes at the back and with David Luiz, I can see why Jose Mourinho seldom played him at Chelsea.

You could see his frailties, especially when it came to defending. You can’t be a defender and forget your defensive duties.

Maybe Brazil’s left back, Marcelo, should concentrate on playing as a left winger because he spends so much time going forward and forgets that he has to defend.

Brazil have to do a lot of soul-searching and players have to stand up and be responsible. You can’t just rely on Neymar, though I don’t think his absence through a spine injury made that much difference.

They missed their captain and key defender Thiago Silva more, I feel. I still think Germany would have won the game even with Neymar there. They simply didn’t know how to defend and though they got through to the semi-finals they struggled to get through, not beating anybody convincingly. The bubble had to burst.

The second semi-final between Holland and Argentina wasn’t the best of semi-finals, they both seemed to be scared of each other and nobody wanted to take a chance. It was very defensive, though Holland had more possession than Argentina. Robin van Persie wasn’t at his best for Holland though Arjen Robben could have won the game for them with virtually the last kick, but he took one touch too many and the shot was blocked.
