ACT: Putting the customer first
A*d(1,3)*p(0,0,0,10.51,0,0,g)>pplied Computer Technologies is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of the customer by delivering exceptional service and superior business solutions.
Applied Computer Technologies (ACT) will be one of the many vendors exhibiting in the Chamber of Commerce’s TechShowcase, which opens next Monday.
David Bart, ACT general manager, said of the show: “We are doing it from an educational standpoint, especially for those people/organisations who do not have the resources available to them that can take advantage of what the IT world has to offer — we can give them options — that is the idea,” he said.
“We will display a number of solutions from printing, telephony and server virtualisation product groups while at the Showcase.
“We will also attempt to highlight the ACT advantage, that allows our customers to take advantage of the fact that ACT has a fully integrated Service department that will support all of our solutions. Our professional services group range from senior level engineers who design and implement solutions to junior up-and-coming engineers who support our clients in a variety of ways including hardware break/fix services.
“Our support model is unique; many of our competitors have great difficulty in supporting solutions from top to bottom. We often have to get involved to rectify problems for clients that have purchased equipment from another vendor who has no means to support the product through the manufacturer warranty guidelines.
“We are much more than a company who just provides hardware and then walks away.”
Mr. Bart said ACT’s mandate is to support their clients and provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
“We support a wide variety of clients, from the small company with four or five people, all the way up to the multi-hundred reinsurance and banking infrastructures. We don’t discriminate, any customer is a good customer.”
Mr Bart focused on some key solutions, one of which is Voice over IP (VoIP).
He said: “This basically means that your phones become part of your IT infrastructure, and you think of them the same way as you do your computer or laptop. Legacy phone systems were set up on separate infrastructures and therefore had to be supported that way. Now everything resides on the same network and can managed and supported more efficiently.
“We are the largest provider of VoIP solutions in Bermuda with over 1,500 handsets sold and currently being supported.
“We have done this through our partnership with Mitel Networks and soon we will be authorised to sell the Cisco VoIP solution further enhancing our offering in this market.
“ACT will also demonstrates the advantages of server virtualisation software.
“We will also demonstrate the advantages of VMware virtualisation software” he said, “And show you how to get a little more bang for your buck, either out of your existing hardware, or for new equipment purchases.”
Continuing along the support theme Mr. Bart went on to explain the various global partners they support locally.
“We are by far the largest service centre and warehouse facility on the Island. We are an authorised service centre for HP (Hewlett Packard), IBM, Apple, and Mitel and this makes a huge difference in that you can buy something from ACT and we can support it locally.”
Mr. Bart added: “ACT’s in depth knowledge of the market allows us to provide solutions that exactly meet the needs of our clients.”
