Yesterday the Public & Media Relations Department welcomed Mr. Coleman Easton.
Mr. Easton, a former student of Warwick Academy and the Bermuda College, attended the University of Western Ontario where he obtained a degree in English.
He previously held the post of staff writer at the Bermuda Telephone Company Ltd. and also worked as an advertising salesman for The Royal Gazette Ltd.
Working both in corporate communications and print media, Mr. Easton will be assisting Police spokesman P.c. Alan Oliver and the public & media relations manager Evelyn James Barnett in "new and expanding areas of the Service such as internal communications and media training''.
Mr. Easton is married to Helen Easton and has one daughter, Alexandra.
DRUGS TRIAL TO BEGIN CTS Drugs trial to begin This morning a Supreme Court jury will begin hearing the case against a Jamaican man accused of importing cocaine in February.
Yesterday, Clifton Hopeton Morrison formally pleaded not guilty before Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller, shortly before a jury of six women and six men was empanelled.
Morrison, 38, of St. Ann's Parish, denies importing cocaine on February 6, possessing with intent to supply, and an alternative charge of knowingly handling the drug.
He is represented by lawyer Victoria Pearman, while Sandra Bacchus appears for the Crown.
MAN DENIES THREATS CTS Man denies threats A trial date will be set today for a St. George's man accused of threatening people with a screwdriver early on Sunday morning.
Troy O'Neill Robinson, 30, of Anchorage Road, was arrested in Wellington Street following reports of a man wandering in the road.
Robinson -- in Magistrates' Court yesterday -- denied carrying an offensive weapon, using offensive words, and making threatening gestures and violently resisting arrest.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis delayed setting a trial date until today, pending further information on Robinson.
YACHT RUNS AGROUND RES Yacht runs aground The sailing vessel Just Enough was rescued after running aground on Sunday evening.
Two other boats assisted in towing the boat, which had two people on board, into deeper water at 6.35 p.m.
And the broken down Jemini was rescued by No Problem at 10 p.m. last night, after it ran into trouble off Shelly Bay. There were two people on board.

Police said a security officer at the Bermuda Industrial Union service station on Dondonald Street reported the man stole the spray can and made good his escape at 10 p.m. on Sunday.
CYCLE TRIAL DATE SET CTS Cycle trial date set Forty-year-old Richard Lewis Repose, of Warwick, will have to return to court for allegedly wilfully damaging a livery cycle and attempting to steal a crash helmet.
Despite Repose's guilty pleas to the two offences in Magistrates' Court on Friday, Senior Magistrate Will Francis set the matter for trial in November.
Mr. Francis handed down the decision as Repose protested, claiming that he does not want to go through the expense of getting a lawyer to defend him.
Mr. Francis said he could not accept Repose's guilty plea because his version of events was too diferent from the Police report. A trial date of November 15 was set.
