I still love you, John, but only six songs?

Please, John, can we have some more?: Multi Grammy award winner John Legend on Saturday night.

I had been waiting for this night ever since Premier Ewart Brown announced John Legend was coming to Bermuda.

I was ecstatic.

All day Saturday I blasted his music from my laptop, belting out every song as I sang along with him.

The excitement was building all day and I could hardly contain myself.

And then he got onstage.

John Legend, my favourite singer, artist and performer of all time. I was in sheer bliss when he sang 'Green Light', 'Ordinary People' and 'Everybody Knows'.

Then the man who I had waited for said he was about to sing his last song minutes after starting his set.

I couldn't believe it. Anger, disappointment, rage, and disbelief – I felt them all.

People all around me were visibly upset and agreed with me that the headliner of the final night should have performed more than three songs.

This man has three albums, six Grammys and has been in the game for quite a few years now. Three songs were just not enough.

The crowd called him back and Mr. Legend went on to sing 'Stay With You', 'Save Room' and a new song, 'Tomorrow', but it wasn't enough.

But let's get on with the positive aspects of the night.

The local talent was absolutely amazing.

When I arrived, the so talented Rachel Brown was onstage and did such a cool rendition of Jamie Foxx's 'Blame It'.

She then sang her song 'Bermuda' to much applause from the audience.

Female power group The Secret was on next.

They owned the stage with songs including 'If This Isn't Love' and 'Dangerously In Love'.

What came next is still a bit confusing for me.

An artist called Papa D took the stage in a sparkly blue suit, a hat and dark shades and sang a song about a bumpy ride.

I wasn't sure if it was a joke or a prank, and if it wasn't, I'm back at square one with my confusion.

Bermudian rapper/singer Propa also took the stage and did three original songs.

One of the funniest men in the business came out next, Chris Tucker.

I always knew he was funny but didn't imagine he was that funny.

From trying to do a Bermudian accent and failing miserably, to talking about how he owns Tucker's Town, this man is hilarious.

Mr. Tucker joked about his friendship with the late popstar Michael Jackson and how he missed him. He did impersonations of everyone from Bill Clinton to Jay-Z.

He had the crowd laughing the entire time and provided much needed comic relief.

Now back to the music.

Naturally 7 is the best a capella group I have ever heard.

The things those men can do with their voices is nothing short of amazing.

I mean I've heard guys beat box before but to be able to play full percussion, bass and electric guitar, violin and so much more – using their mouths, not instruments – is crazy.

They sounded like a full band. If there was anyone who was blind there that night, they wouldn't have known there weren't any instruments being used.

Naturally 7 had the crown clapping, singing and even jumping at the end.

Siedah Garrett took the stage in a black sparkly number looking beautiful as usual.

She brought the crowd to their feet when she sang her duet with Michael Jackson, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and got emotional at the end.

It was the first time she had performed the song since the death of the late popstar in June.

When she sang the song that she said "changed her life", 'Man In the Mirror', everyone at the Keep Yard stood up and sang with her.

It was such a great moment of the night to pay homage to the King of Pop.

Mr. Legend took the stage after Ms Garrett and unfortunately disappointed me.

As a mega-fan of his I don't know if I'll be thrilled to see him again.

Especially after watching him at the Essence Music Festival in July where he jumped on the piano and had the crowd hyped.

Overall however, the night was a success. It closed with a thrilling performance of 'Thriller' by Ms Garret, UDP dancers and Gombeys.

I enjoyed the music festival this year. Not as much as last year but I still had a good time.

And I still love you John Legend.
