Steady stream of profanity after man told to use public washroom
Urinating on a Hamilton Police station floor and cursing out a cop has earned a man a conditional discharge from a Magistrate.
Roland Plathe, 46, was handed a mop and told to clean up the mess around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
But he told the officer ?f**k you!? and continued a four-letter tirade, which included shouting that he wanted to use the ?f***ing bathroom?.
Plathe, of Mariners Lane, Pembroke, was handed a one-year conditional discharge after Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said that being kept in the cells overnight after the incident was punishment enough.
If during the next 12 months Plathe keeps a clean record, the charge will be expunged.
Mr. Warner added: ?I should make it a condition that you mop the Police floor, but it?s probably dried in by now.?
Crown counsel Cindy Clarke told the court Plathe had been at the station on an unrelated matter, and once released, came back into the building and demanded ? obscenely ? to use the station?s toilet.
After being warned about his language, he was told to go to a public restroom outside.
Plathe, who continued to use offensive words, smelled of drink but was not drunk, Ms Clarke explained. He was taken outside by a Sergeant and again told to use a public toilet. When he refused and swore again, he was arrested. Taken to the jail area, Plathe then urinated on the floor. Plathe apologised in court for his behaviour.
