Officer should be `flogged'
wrong name on a traffic ticket.
Magistrate Edward King made the statement last week during the case of Edward Bernell Trott.
Trott, 24, of Fenton Drive, Pembroke was accused of riding his cycle in excess of 60 kph on North Shore road Devonshire on January 15.
When asked what name he gave the officer, Trott said: "I can't remember.'' The ticket had the name "Edwin'' Trott on it.
Trott adamantly stated: "I don't ride bikes. I catch a taxi everywhere I go.'' It was later found there was a misprint in the name by a Police officer.
Mr. King said "the Police officer should be flogged for this'' when it was revealed that the name was written incorrectly on the ticket.
Trott also denied stalking Tyeasha Anderson between July 26 and October 5, stalking and causing harm to Monique Cook on October 5, damaging property of Monique Cook on October 5, unlawfully assaulting Tyeasha Anderson on October 5, and escaping custody on October 5.
He will return to court on February 1 for trial. He was released on $750 bail.
