Police said the 43-year-old woman, of no fixed abode, entered Davidson's around 6.50 p.m. on Thursday, picked up seven shirts and ran out of the store.
Soon afterward, the woman turned herself in at the Hamilton Police Station.
She was found to have the items on her in addition to a pair of shoes and a watch, which she admitted to stealing.
She was arrested and detained.

Keno Grant Outerbridge, 29, of St. John's Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court on Friday to possessing the drug., Police went to Number One Shed on Front Street on June 14, upon being informed that drugs were being sold in the adjacent car park and saw Outerbridge sitting with a group of males.
Outerbridge was taken to Hamilton Police Station where Police searched the Police vehicle and found a small brown paper twist, containing three white rocks. These were shown to Outerbridge. He admitted to possession of the objects, saying: "I didn't want to get caught with them.'' Analysis showed the white substance was .64 grams of cocaine freebase or crack.
Outerbridge apologised yesterday, saying he was on the verge of fixing his life.
CARELESS DRIVER FINED CTS Careless driver fined An accident cost a Devonshire woman $300 for driving without due care.
Twenty-five-year-old Cherree Sophia Lambert, of Cedar Park Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court on Friday to the charge.
Crown counsel Charmaine Smith told the court that at 9.15 p.m. on June 20, Lambert, who was making a right turn on the corner of North and Brunswick streets, collided with a cycle going in the opposite direction.
Lambert was uninjured, but both the rider and passenger of the cycle received minor injuries.
Lambert, however, stated that she was allowed to make her turn by a taxi driver and that the young woman had to have been speeding to not have seen her.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis fined her $300.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS CRM Man arrested for drugs Police arrested a 20-year-old St. George's man for possessing drugs and traffic violations.
A routine traffic stop, around 2.30 p.m. on Church Street on Thursday, revealed that he was riding a motorcycle with no valid driver's licence and no vehicle licence or insurance.
He was conveyed to Hamilton Police Station where he was also found to have two manila envelopes containing plant material.

They told Police that they left the bike parked and secured at Horseshoe Bay Beach in Southampton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and returned to it at 12.20 p.m.
They rode to the Paraquet Restaurant in Paget when they discovered the grey carry-on bag had been removed.

The fire, caused by an oil leak in the car engine's exhaust and manifold, was reported at 10.09 p.m. and one fire truck and four firefighters extinguishd it by 10.25 p.m. Damage was estimated at $2,000. No-one was injured.
