Pollock appears in court

William Maximchuk, of Calgary, Alberta, admitted importation of cocaine on June 28 this year. He will be sentenced on January 4. At the same time, Paula Madill, will appear for mention in connection with the same incident.
And Briton Kevin Pollock will face his second trial when he appears on a manslaughter charge on December 13.
Also appearing at the monthly arraignment session in the Supreme Court yesterday was convicted drug smuggler Clifton Morrison, who will face a retrial on March 13.
The Court of Appeal ordered the course after he appealed his conviction and 12-year sentence last month.
Maximchuk, 44, represented by Elizabeth Christopher, had been remanded in custody since his arrest.
Charges of conspiracy to import a controlled drug and possession with intent to supply, which he had denied, were ordered to be left on the file.
Madill, 33, represented by Peter Farge, denies possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and will appear in January.
Both were remanded.
Bermudian Aston Edwards, 42, of Spice Hill Road, Warwick was discharged from the case during a preliminary inquiry held on October 4. He denied conspiring to import a controlled drug on June 28.
Pollock will appear in court a week on Monday for trial in the manslaughter of Craig McGavern.
Pollock, defended by Richard Horseman, was initially found guilty but his conviction was overturned on appeal. The Court of Appeal ordered a retrial.
Pollock, who denies the charge, had his bail extended.
Morrison, of Jamaica, was sentenced to 12 years after he was convicted of smuggling $90,000 of cocaine into Bermuda. The Court of Appeal ordered a retrial last month.
Kevin Bean, appearing for Victoria Pearman, acted for Morrison during the hearing. Morrison was remanded in custody.
