Sir John told the House of Assembly that contrary to statements made by Independent MP Mr. Stuart Hayward , the extension was not made due to Mr.

Hayward's request.

In fact, Sir John said Mr. Hayward's request to have the May 31 deadline for the return of voter registration forms extended to June 9 was refused.

However, he said the deadline was extended to yesterday (FRI) because the Parliamentary Registrar found there was enough time between May 31 and the printing deadline -- June 15, for her staff to process additional forms.
