Thieves drive off with logs
stole from a Southampton home on Saturday morning.
A High Point Lane Southampton man reported to Police that cedar logs had been stolen from his property.
The man told officers that at around 10 a.m. on Saturday, his neighbour had been hearing loud noises in the area and consequently stopped a white dump truck seen crossing his yard.
The neighbour was making inquiries with the two men in the truck and when he mentioned the cedar logs he saw in the back, they suddenly drove off.
SCRAMBLER BIKE TAKEN FROM HOME CRM Scrambler bike taken from home Police on Friday attended a report of a stolen bike at a residence on Tribe Road 1 in Pembroke.
Officers were told that a scrambler motorcycle was being kept in the home while it was being repaired but occupants of the home returned at 4 a.m. on Friday to find the bike and various disassembled parts, gone.

Yesterday, a Probation Service officer asked Magistrate Carlisle Greaves to delay the sentencing of the boys until a social inquiry report could be prepared.
The probation officer asked for the adjournment because of difficulty in meeting the boys' families, illness, and scheduling difficulties.
After setting the hearing for December 15, Mr. Greaves told Crown counsel Patrick Doherty, and lawyers Saul Froomkin, Delroy Duncan, and Mark Pettingill: "On that date the court is not prepared to accept any delays for anyone.'' The boys were released again on $500 bail with one surety.

Tio Smith, 23, of Scenic Heights, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possession of cannabis on March 1.
Crown counsel Leighton Rochester told the court that at 2.50 a.m. Police stopped a cycle at the junction of Court and Church streets. They noticed that Smith appeared nervous and evasive and that his eyes were bloodshot. A search revealed a clear plastic bag containing seven twists in the top left pocket of his pants. A Bic lighter was also found.
The sample was found to be 4.5 grams of cannabis.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis fined Smith $700.
Smith also pleaded guilty to charges of driving an unlicensed cycle, driving an uninsured cycle, speeding at 73 kph, and driving without a valid driver's licence at Middle Road, Warwick on September 4. He was fined $400, $500, $400 and $100 and disqualified him from all motor vehicles for 12 months.

Clinton Symonds, 59, of Tribe Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving without due care on September 11.
Crown counsel Leighton Rochester told the court that Symonds was turning right at the intersection of Front Street and Spurling Hill when he collided with a cycle travelling east.
The driver of the cycle received extensive injuries to his head, a damaged left eye and paralysed left arm. Symonds said there was already an accident in progress, when he arrived on the scene. He maintained that he waited for traffic to clear before he proceeded up the hill. That was when he reported hearing a bang when the cyclist hit the car.
