The schedule dubbed the Sizzling Summer Activities Guide was unveiled to industry partners at a cocktail reception on Thursday.

Tashae Thompson from the Department of Tourism explained exit surveys indicated that visitors wanted more free daytime activities. In the past, the Department had concentrated on night-time events.

As a result, they will be treated this summer to beach competitions ranging from volleyball to sandcastle building every Sunday on Horseshoe Bay Beach. Gombey dancers will thrill the crowds with their moves on Saturdays in Par-la-Ville Park.

Live music and local cuisine are on offer during "Summer Sundays" concerts in Victoria Park. Meanwhile, visitors to the West End on Sunday afternoons will be able to participate in "Taste of Bermuda Calypso Sundays" in Dockyard, enjoying local fare such as jams, rum cakes and fish chowder while listening to calypso.

Renowned St. George's Walking Tour guide Gillian Outerbridge will be on hand in the old town every Monday and Friday morning to bring stories of personalities and historical moments to life.

For those out and about at a later hour, popular events such as St. George's Tuesday evening Market Nights, Harbour Nights in Hamilton on Wednesdays and Destination Dockyard on Mondays will continue.

Uptown Market Culture Fest nights will take over Court Street in North Hamilton on July 16 and September 17.
