A six-seater taxi inexplicably abandoned for a year at a Pembroke lot has been labelled an “eyesore”.

The cab, which appears in decent condition despite some scratched paintwork, can be found at the car park next to Spanish Point Park.

Its interior reveals items left behind such as towels, a tool kit, a cooler, pens and a beaded seat cover.

A faded driver’s ID is also visible, while a Transport Control Department sticker on the front windshield reveals that the vehicle’s licence expired on January 31, 2015.

A Spanish Point resident, who asked not to be named, called for the Government to take the taxi away.

“It’s an eyesore — everybody says it’s an eyesore,” he said. “What’s a taxi doing laid-up for a whole year?

“If you can’t afford to put it on the road, you should find somebody else who can. It’s lazy.”
