A big-hearted law firm has donated $25,000 to help ease the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.Kennedys, based in Hamilton, gave the cash to the Bermuda Emergency Fund, set up to help people over the coronavirus crisis.Mark Chudleigh, the managing partner of the Bermuda arm of the international law firm, said: “Bermuda has done a fantastic job in managing the spread of the Covid-19 virus within the island.“But we all agree that tough times lie ahead and that many in our community will suffer significant hardship as a result of the virus-related disruption and restrictions affecting our economy.“The community will need to pull together like never before in living memory and we must all play our part”.Mr Chudleigh highlighted that the emergency fund, run by the Bermuda Foundation, helped support a range of services, including those for people who suffered from mental and physical illness, victims of domestic violence, the elderly and people who struggled to afford basic needs.He said: “We at Kennedys were inspired by the initiative shown by the foundation and the donations from scores of businesses, both local and international, and are pleased to be able to make our own contribution.”Mr Chudleigh added that donations to the Bermuda Emergency Fund could be made at www.bermudacommunityfoundation.org.
