Bermuda's motocross national championships are entering the final weeks of the season, but in some classes there's still enough time for the leadership
Charles Butterfield has his sights set on the number one plate in the 125B class but with less than 50 points separating he and Kyle Constable the race is not yet over. Aaron Pace in third place could also mount a late challenge.
The new 80cc modified class is headed by Craig Panchaud over Levon Seymour while the 80cc class has been led by Steven Panchaud for 11 rounds. Sean DeSilva is chasing, 77 points behind.
Howard Paynter has the 125C class virtually sewn up after amassing 28 victories so far with a fifth being his worst finish. Paynter leads Carlston Burgess Jr by 108 points.
Pee Wee 50 leader Jonte Smith is the only rider in that class, having amassed 435 points from 50 wins, while Brandon DeSilva also cannot be caught in the Pee Wee 80 class where he leads by 90 points.
In the 60cc division, Jakai Brimmer has been doing most of the winning and is 57 points clear of Gary Cann who will be looking to capitalise on any mistakes by Brimmer as the season winds down.
A team of 60 and 80cc riders are expected in from North Carolina for this Sunday's racing at Coney Island. They will also hold a riding clinic on Saturday.
JUNIOR GOLF GLF Chris Smith and Aaron James matched each other stroke for stroke with Smith finally winning Group Five on retrogression as the Bermuda junior golf programme moved to Ocean View last weekend.
Both players ended with five-over-par 75s, James including on his card an eagle three and two birdies. Neil Fenton took third place on 76.
In Group Four, Scott Roy led the way with a 77, three shots better than second-placed Jarryd Dillas with David Smith on third with 83.
Davin Smith took the honours in Group Three on 88, edging Tim Burland on retrogression. Jonathan Hayes was a further four shots back in third place.
Shannon Trott won Group One, shooting 42 over nine holes, three shots ahead of Laura Robinson with Jarryd Outerbridge a further stroke back in third.
